At 12:50 p.m., the Delta 1898 flight arrived from Atlanta, Georgia. Upon the deplaning, passengers were greeted by live music and airport authorities. The lucky winner was Carla Willitz, from Utah, who received a gift bag made of national products and preferential access to the VIP Lounge when departing.

The passenger, who traveled with her husband and 4 children said “I feel very happy and lucky! It is fun to get out of the plane and being the 9 millionth passenger. It is not my first time in Guanacaste. We love it here; it is beautiful, and we love to surf. We just keep coming back because it is so wonderful”.
